A bit about the owners

Welcome to Onetangi Beachfront Apartments – where the sun, sand, and sea weave a story of warmth and hospitality! Meet the heart and soul behind this little slice of paradise – Brian and Alison.

How it all started...

Brian and Alison Walker traded the bustle of city life for the beauty of Waiheke Island in the 1980s. Brian brought his dream to life by building a successful Four Square in Oneroa, while Alison’s passion for education found its place at the local school.

 

Their story shifted when they ventured into hospitality, taking over the Roanna Maree motel on Onetangi’s stunning beachfront. There, they managed the motel, built six apartments, and created a home in one of the most enviable locations around. In the early 2000s, they expanded to Aotea, Great Barrier Island, dedicating 36 hectares to a conservation project that reflects their deep love for nature. While Aotea offers off-the-grid living, Onetangi provides a serene retreat with all the comforts of home. 

 

The Walkers love for these islands inspired them to create this website, inviting you to discover Waiheke’s breathtaking beaches, local vineyards, artisans, and treasures enjoyed by locals.

Idyllic Setting
I wanted to get away and recharge my soul. Taking my small dog with me, this was the perfect location, right on Onetangi Beach where you could hear the waves at night. A great property for a family or going solo. This place hit the mark. Thank you.

Awesome holiday spot
Thanks for sharing such a special home - it was perfect for us, especially as we were travelling with older parents who could easily access all the amenities of the house and the short walk across to the beautiful beach was just perfect.

Great house and location
It’s a great house and a wonderful location. Right across from the beach and a few restaurants on the street. It was perfect for our family. Kitchen had everything you’d need to cook, the garden area is nice and provides some private outdoor area. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Loved our stay in Brian and Alison's townhouse right on Onetangi Beach. It was perfect for our family of 4 and our little pup. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a full meal and the lounge is lovely and big which means plenty of space to spread out. We were there during Cyclone Hale so being able to swim in the cold ocean and then be in the hot spa a few mins later was a real treat.

Awesome and spacious
This house was fantastic. We were blown away by the size and quality of the property, beautiful and luxurious. Owners were great at communicating info to us. The beach is across the street, literally. Every amenity you could want. The upstairs master bedroom is stunning with ocean views.

Note: The six Onetangi Beach Front Apartments and Main Residence are owned and maintained by Brian and Alison. These apartments have a separate management and reception to the original Roanna Maree / Onetangi Beach Apartments.
