Kevin and Janetta Travel Guides Australia at Onetangi Beachfront Apartments
Onetangi Beachfront Apartments recently had the pleasure of welcoming Kevin and Janetta between seasons of Travel Guides Australia — the straight-talking, five-star-loving duo who know a great holiday when they see one.

Some months back, Kevin and Janetta reached out about a direct booking. As a fan of Travel Guides, I instantly recognised them as the straight-talking, five-star-loving duo from the show. I’ll admit — I had a few pre-arrival nerves. Would we live up to their standards?
But as we exchanged a few emails, it was clear there were no pretensions — just two lovely people planning a personal holiday and happy to connect with a local for a few tips.
Here’s what their three-day itinerary looked like:
- Day 1: A personalised wine tour with a fantastic local guide.
- Day 2 & 3: Self-guided adventures — beaches, scenic lookouts, and winery visits.
Kevin and Janetta booked one of our upstairs one bedroom seaview apartments as their base. The perfect place to relax after a day of touring, looking out on to Onetangi Beach – a beautiful and safe beach. They raved about their wine tour (#waihekewinetours), which included Casita Miro, Batch, and Mudbrick (so good they went back twice!). They also enjoyed a fabulous meal at 372 and a scenic drive to the Eastern End.
We were lucky enough to share a family brunch with them and discovered a few fun facts:
✨ They’re not travel snobs — just travellers who know what they like.
✈️ Janetta’s nickname is Jet (fitting for a jetsetting woman).
✍️ Kevin is a ghostwriter — which explains the polished wit.
💛 Most of all, they’re humble, kind, and clearly living their best lives — and grateful for it.
They modestly claimed not to be very good at social media. But I’ve since followed them on Instagram and realise that, even on a private holiday, they’re graciously connecting with fans.
