Fullers

Fullers has been part of Auckland’s maritime heritage since 1887. Today their fleet deliver half-hourly crossings to Waiheke from downtown Auckland. The ferry is a vital link for residents for work, education and healthcare. Don’t be dismayed when you see resident queues- there is typically room for everyone but residents get first access on to the boat.
If using Fullers do your best to travel off-peak when it’s less busy. If you plan to leave Auckland between 10am and 12pm, or leave Waiheke Island between 3pm and 6pm, it will be busy, and we expect long queues. If you can, avoid these travel times so that you can make the most of your time on the Island. If you can’t travel during off-peak times, Fullers recommend arriving at the ferry terminal at least 60 minutes before your preferred sailing. We think that’s a bit extreme but they do operate off a few closely located piers so we recommend you allow time to check the digital boards and make your way to the right pier and assess the queue. If you find you are too early and the queues are limited there is a local icecream shop or bar nearby. There is also a sheltered waiting room and toilets at the end of the Queens Wharf Pier.
