Goldie Estate

In 2011, Kim and Jeanette Goldwater, gifted their 14-hectare Goldie Vineyard to the University of Auckland. This generous donation led to the establishment of the University’s Wine Science Centre at the estate, providing students with a unique opportunity to study and work in a functioning boutique winery. The historic homestead on the property offers accommodation for Wine Science students, immersing them in a realistic winery environment. This collaboration allows students to gain hands-on experience in viticulture and winemaking, bridging academic studies with practical industry skills.
Wine Varietals Goldie Estate produces a range of celebrated wines, including Syrah, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Their flagship wine, the Goldie Syrah, is noted for its bold flavors and smooth finish.
Wine Tasting and Cellar Door The estate’s cellar door offers a welcoming atmosphere where guests can sample a range of wines guided by knowledgeable staff. Visitors can also enjoy guided tastings and vineyard tours. The on-site café serves platters paired with wines from their collection, making it a perfect spot for lunch with a view.
